Serve as Fire Protection Engineer for ONS License Renewal Implementation Project. Work to provide engineering support for License Renewal activities at Oconee. EX. of current activities may include following: Acts a Mechanical engineer responsible for development of documentation packages, primarily Fire Protection Related - to confirm Oconee NRC License Renewal Commitments have been completed. Will require active coordination w/ station System & Component Engineers, Station Maintenance Organization, Regulatory Compliance, Procedure Writers, Work Planning, & or groups as identified to actively manage multiple work tasks; including: Maintaining close working relationship w/ Implementation Manager to track progress of scheduled inspection work & ensuring that any inspections not scheduled are being planned. Managing req. procedure & UFSAR changes by submitting change packages w/ supporting applicability & 50.59 evaluations. Managing Commitment Closure Package quality & schedule. Primary responsibility shall be to conduct research to ensure that all actions that have been committed to are complete. Assembling consistent, organized, & accurate documentation packages for presentation to NRC is key deliverable for this activity. Working knowledge of licensing docs such as a Safety Evaluation Report (SER), Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), & License Renewal Application, as well as key Design Basis docs including calculations, system & program descriptions, & engineering drawings. Working w/ station program owners & system engineers to identify implementation docs (work orders, procedures, inspection plans, etc.) already completed & to identify activities that have yet to be scheduled & completed. Prepares thorough & accurate documentation packages that will become bases for compliance w/ License Renewal NRC Commitments. Packages shall include such docs as completed work orders, inspection reports, third party technical reports, completed test reports, correspondence, & listings of inspections & tests to be performed going forward.
QUALIFICATIONS CHECKLIST
Required Qualifications
___ Previous experience in Licensing or License Renewal Program work is req. & viewed - highly desirable.
___ Mechanical engineer concepts related to component & system degradation, corrosion types & concepts, coatings assessment & related aging assessment concepts.
___ Engineer in nuclear plant including work implementation processes.
___ BS in Mechanical Engineering.
___ Minimum of 10 years experience at a nuclear utility.
___ Excellent technical writing & ability to develop & document engineering analyses.
___ Effective planning, time management & prioritizing skills to achieve desired results w/ minimal supervision.
___ Communication, speaking, negotiating, & influencing skills.
___ Team leadership &/or project management skills.
___ Experience at a Duke nuclear facility.
___ Previous experience as a Component, Program, or System/Plant Engineer in a related area.
___ Working knowledge of wide range of structure & component periodic testing & inspection evolutions.
___ Understanding of Passport Asset Suite software tool (NAS, Ventyx, etc.)
___ Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Tech field.
